About Us

My photo
Southern, California, United States
My sister and I are "Annie Louise". We live in sunny Southern California. Ever since we were kids our mom would take us to estate sale and garage sales. So I guess it is only natural that we still both love to go to garage sales, flea markets and thrift stores--- nothing more exciting than the thrill of the hunt and the find!! Our style is a cross between rustic, shabby chic and beachy. We are both new to blogging, but have decided to start our own blog. We hope you find this blog interesting and come back to visit often. Thanks for visiting, Jackie and Jeanette

A wonderful day at the Old Towne Orange Flea Market

Greetings,

Jackie and I had an amazing wonderful day at the Orange Flea Market.  Our sales were good, but even better than that we spoke with some wonderful people; heard many wonderful stories, laughed and smiled all day, a dear friend shared an amazing/wonderful/joyful/miraculous story with us, and the sweet Debbie from Blossoms Vintage Chic surprised and astonished Jackie and I with this delightful, sweet angel.

Debbie had read that I was collecting angels and brought this one for us.  She brought a tear to my eye at her sweetness and generosity.  Thank you, thank you, thank you -- your kindness is so appreciated!!!!

Sumptuous White Wednesday

I scored at my favorite thrift store.  I have been eyeing the "Simply Shabby Chic" bedding at Target for quite awhile now, but it just is not within my budget.  Well, while rummaging through the goodies at one of my favorite thrift stores, I came across all of this--
A full/queen  ruffle bedspread and shams, new in the package.

This full/queen size white cutout duvet cover, once again new in the original packaging.
This king size bed skirt, yep new in the original packaging. Even though my bed is a queen size, lLuckily for me the "king size" was not a problem at all.
and

This luxurious, soft, simply shabby chic white blanket.  I figured out that had I purchased all of this new it would have cost me over three times as much as I paid at the thrift store! I am linking up with Faded Charm http://fadedcharmcottage.blogspot.com/ for other wonderful white eye candy.
Have a great Wednesday : )
Blessings to all,
Jeanette

Box Transformation

Hi Everyone,
I purchased some Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  I decided to start out small, so I transformed this box.
I used "Paris Grey"

It is greyer looking than this photo.

I then put on a thin layer of Annie Sloan "Clear" wax.

I decided not to paint the inside, I liked the way the wood looked against the grey paint.
After I had applied one coat of wax, I distressed it, added another light application of wax, buffed, and installed a cute little crystal handle.

I love working with the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and for sure will be doing other projects, and when the budget allows purchasing other colors.  This project took less than 4 hours start to finish and I am very happy with how it turned out and the coverage of the paint.

I purchased my Annie Sloan Paint from http://trulytattered.blogspot.com/ in Tustin, CA.

I am linking up with The Shabby Chic Cottage for Transformation Thursday.

Have a great day!

Sutter Creek California

Hi Everyone,
Jackie and I were fortunate enough to travel to Northern California to a sweet little town called Sutter Creek.  We were lucky to arrive there the day before their "Trash to Treasure" event.  It was a great, fun event, with many goodies.  Below are some of the wonderful sites of Sutter Creek---
It seemed that everywhere we turned there was beautiful scenery.   We even met up with our brother and sister-in-law from Oregon.  We all had a wonderful time in a fascinating, beautiful area.
Blessings,
Jeanette

Loving Spring

I love SPRING!!  The weather is great not too hot (yet), the flowers start to bloom, the sweet smell of fresh mowed grass--it is just a glorious time.

Here are a few flowers from our garden.  Now I must say I adore lilacs, I was born and raised in Oregon, and our Mom had a beautiful garden with about 4 wonderful lilacs, full of blooms and that wonderful scent.  So below is a picture of our one lilac bloom from our lilac that we have had for about 5 years here in California.  Lilacs are not abundant in Southern California (well not like in Oregon) so we have to be content with what lilacs we have here.   Anywho, here are a few pictures of some flowers in our garden---YEAH Spring.

Hope you all are enjoying your Spring.  My thoughts and prayers are with those that are still experiencing terrible, horrific weather.
